Fonts

We use four fonts in our sites and apps. Each has a slightly different purpose and reason for use. We've done much research (and debate) and have landed with these. Chose your font, and choose it wisely.

Proxima Nova

This is our main font of choice. Yes, it's trendy. But trendy means recognizable, and recognizable mean highly legible. Plus it just looks great all splashed over your page or app. Right?

Raleway

Raleway is a great open source Google hosted font that is a very similar in tone to Proxima Nova. However because of licensing restrictions and the way that we develop hybrid apps, you can't always serve Proxima Nova to our apps. So when we make mobile apps, this is our font of choice.

Charis SIL

This amazing workhorse of a typeface has served us well. Because we often render the Scripture on a page with an option to change the scripture into multiple languages this font allows us to cover most of our diacritic character needs. It might not be the most beautiful font, but we sure appreciate how useful it is!

Merriweather

When we know that the text is going to be in a language with Latin characters only we'll use Merriweather. It's beautiful, highly readable, and just adds a level of elegance that we think the Scriptures deserve.
